The Canadian Philosophy Show #619
On this week's episode we continue our theme of media theory. We discuss Noam Chomsky's theories of media control: how an elite class of citizens use propaganda in the media to effectively control public opinion and the democratic process. We also discuss how, through the concepts of Walter Benjamin, mass media may in fact be a self-perpetuating system with radical political and structural implications.
